Promise in Action

Promise In Action is a family‑strengthening and enrichment initiative designed to support homeless families at the New Castle County Hope Center through evidence‑based parent education, literacy activities, developmental assessments, wrap‑around services, and social‑emotional support. The program provides structured group sessions, individualized coaching, childcare, meals, and resource navigation while fostering confidence, communication skills, emotional well‑being, and stronger parenting practices. Through partnerships with United Way of Delaware, Parents As Teachers, Let’s Grow Act Win, The Well, and Generations of Promise, Promise In Action creates a coordinated, supportive ecosystem that helps families stabilize, access essential services, and move toward long‑term independence and academic readiness for their children.

Let's Grow, Act, Win

Let’s Grow, Act, Win Enrichment Program is an enrichment program designed to support unhoused students through high‑quality, after‑school learning experiences centered on fundamental literacy. The program provides structured reading support, engaging literacy activities, and academic skill‑building to help students strengthen foundational reading abilities and stay on track academically despite housing instability. The program is proudly supported by sponsors including United Way of Delaware, The Well, and Chick‑fil‑A, whose contributions help create safe, consistent, and empowering learning environments for students experiencing homelessness.

Get Delaware Reading

Get Delaware Reading is a statewide summer literacy initiative designed to promote reading, prevent summer learning loss, and provide free educational enrichment for children and families across Delaware. The program brings together schools, community organizations, and literacy partners to ensure students of all ages have access to engaging reading activities, books, and learning opportunities throughout the summer months. During this time, Let’s Grow, Act, Win Enrichment Program partners with United Way of Delaware to deliver Get Delaware Reading at sites serving unhoused students, expanding access to high‑quality literacy enrichment and supporting continuity of learning beyond the school year. The initiative is proudly supported by United Way of Delaware, whose sponsorship helps strengthen literacy outcomes and create equitable learning opportunities for Delaware’s youth.
